WHAT ARE NEUROMODULATORS?
The bacterium Clostridium botulinum produces a purified toxin known as Botulinum Toxin Type A, and this is the very toxin used and trademarked by Allergan. The toxin works by blocking muscles from responding to nerve impulses, and in large quantities, this can cause Botulism, a kind of paralysis. However, because only small doses of Botulinum A are directly injected into a particular muscle, paralysis only occurs on that specific area. This effectively stops the problems caused by the muscle, such as frown lines and twitch spasms.
* Your Results May Vary
WHAT IS IT INJECTED?
When you frown on purpose, you will be able to feel the muscles below the inside of your eyebrows thickening. The frown line that appears as a result of this action is made manifest by the corrugator muscle. In order to prevent your eyebrows from drawing close together when you frown, Dr. Rapaport specifically targets and injects the corrugator muscle directly with B-x. Because the muscle is paralyzed and therefore, unable to contract, you will be able to observe those frown lines gradually fading away. In treating neck folds, crow’s feet, and forehead wrinkles, B-x Cosmetic has also been found to be highly effective.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
The actual process of a B-x treatment as administered by Dr. Rapaport only takes a few minutes. Results from the B-x Cosmetic treatment can then be observed between three and ten days. Within three to five months, muscle action will gradually return as the B-x Cosmetic effect slowly fades. To maintain the desired result and to prevent the frown lines from reappearing, a repeat treatment is advised.
WHO CAN PERFORM INJECTIONS?
B-x injections should only be administered by qualified physicians. Dr. Rapaport is completely certified to provide this service, as proven by the thousands of patients he has treated.
ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
Possible side effects from B-x Cosmetic can be observed during local injection, such as discomfort when the injection is administered and some bruising on the treated area. B-x Cosmetic have very few known permanent side effects. Ptosis or the lowering of one eyelid may be observed by 1% of patients undergoing treatment. This is often not noticeable and is completely temporary.
ARE NEUROMODULATORS FDA APPROVED?
They are are FDA-approved, and Botulinum A has been in use since 1980 as treatment for uncontrolled blinking (blepharospasm) and lazy eye (strabismus). It was Dr. Carruthers of Vancouver who originally pioneered the use of B-x Cosmetic on forehead wrinkles, and in 1995, a thorough study of this technique was completed and published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. Always use authentic B-x injections such as the ones done by Dr. Rapaport to avoid complications.
