How Does JUVÉDERM Work?
Young, healthy-looking skin contains an abundance of a naturally hydrating substance called hyaluronic acid (HA). But as you age, sunlight and other factors can reduce the amount of HA in your skin. What to Expect From The JUVÉDERM Treatment?
In your first consultation, Dr. Rapaport will brief you on how JUVÉDERM XC works, what to expect, and what type of results you might have. When you come in for the procedure, JUVÉDERM XC will be injected into the treatment areas. To make sure you’re not uncomfortable, Dr. Rapaport will use a very thin needle and a local anesthetic.
Once the procedure is over, you can immediately go back to your daily life. There are no common severe side effects; the most common side effects (swelling, tenderness, or pain) are often gone within a week.
The results you see can be maintained for up to one year. However, because everyone is different, Dr. Rapaport might recommend a different course of action, such as touch-ups. These touch-up visits are just detailing, and are often very short.
