What is Cellulite?
The ripples and dimples of cellulite can affect many different body types. Cellulite results from the way the body holds certain fat deposits, not necessarily from the overall amount of fat present.
Underneath the skin, fibrous cords of connective tissue (septae) secure the dermis to the muscle. In some areas, these cords align in a vertical pattern with uneven sections between them, creating small pockets in which fat tissue collects. The fat cells push up toward the surface producing that characteristic lumpiness associated with cellulite. Profound RF, by Syneron Candela, presents a simple, painless, non-surgical solution to reduce or remove cellulite by treating it at the source—recalibrating the fibrous cords that support the skin and breaking down the adipose tissue trapped between those cords.
The Profound Approach Profound is an FDA approved cellulite treatment and the FIRST device with temperature controlled RF (radio-frequency) practiceally & scientifically proven to deliver energy directly to the deep dermis for a comprehensive treatment of Dermal & SubQ layers of the skin.
Profound uses microneedle electrodes inserted into the subcutaneous layer of fat to distribute radiofrequency (RF) energy which then stimulates the dissolution of fat tissue and the revitalization of the septae. This thermal activity triggers a natural healing mechanism which also produces new elastin, collagen, and hyaluronic acid, further enabling the treatment area to tighten. The Profound procedure works within the skin, not on top of it, to catalyze an internal transformation.

CoolSculpting® is a popular fat reduction treatment that uses controlled cooling to destroy fat cells without surgery, and is commonly applied to the thighs, love handles and buttocks. The Profound device can also be used for skin tightening treatments on the face or body.
Before your Profound treatment, your aesthetic professional will apply a topical numbing cream to the treatment area, followed by an injection of numbing medicine. Then, the Profound device will be passed over your thighs. The device contains five pairs of microneedles with electrodes delivering radiofrequency energy directly into your skin and tissue.
The bumpy appearance of cellulite is caused by the connective bands of fibrous tissue (septae) that are present within the natural fatty layer just below the skin. As the septae tighten, they pull downward on the skin, creating an uneven, dimpled appearance.
Before your treatment, you will be asked to stop smoking and taking antihistamines. This will help promote a healthy recovery and reduce procedure symptoms. We recommend you wear loose clothing in the areas the treatment will be applied. This will allow you to be comfortable and not apply unnecessary pressure after the procedure is completed. Do not apply lotions or other products to the treatment areas within forty-eight hours of the procedure.

After your Profound cellulite reduction treatment, you can expect to have some redness and mild soreness on the treated area, but these side effects should fade within the first day. You can return to your normal routine immediately following your appointment, but refrain from strenuous activities for at least the first 24 hours. You may also develop some temporary bruising or swelling, which should fade within 1 to 5 days of your treatment.
Your results should gradually develop over the following several weeks and months. You should notice your skin developing a smoother, firmer texture. Your cellulite should slowly start to diminish after treatment.
