Gita Makkar, PA-C, is a skilled and versatile Physician Assistant with extensive experience in Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. With a commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based care, Gita is currently practicing at Jeffrey Rapaport, MD,PA, a multi-disciplinary dermatology practice in Englewood Cliffs and Secaucus, New Jersey. She specializes in diagnosing and treating a wide range of dermatologic conditions.

In her current dermatology role, Gita manages various skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, and allergic rashes, utilizing both traditional and advanced treatments, including topical medications, biologics, and phototherapy. She is proficient in conducting full-body skin exams for skin cancer screening, patch testing for allergic reactions, and performing surgical procedures such as shave and punch biopsies, mole removals, wart excisions, and skin tag removal. Additionally, she has expertise in hair loss and scalp disorders.

Gita earned her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Nebraska University Medical Center and her Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from City University of New York, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She is a New Jersey Certified Physician Assistant and holds additional certifications in Dermatology, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Stroke NIHSS.

Fluent in Hindi and Punjabi, Gita is dedicated to fostering strong relationships with her patients, ensuring they feel empowered and informed in their treatment plans.
